How to SSH to the Linux Server From Your PC

You can log in to your Linux Server from your Windows PC using the PuTTY application. You can download the PuTTY application from here.

Using SSH carries risks. For the best results, please ensure that you have a complete backup of your server's contents before you try to manage your server using a shell.

SSH to Linux Server

This tutorial shows you how to SSH to a Linux Server from Windows PC using the PuTTY application.

Step 1. Install and run the PuTTY application.
Step 2. Enter your Server Hostname/IP address in the appropriate field and click Open.
 
Step 3. Click Yes to add your server host key to local machine.
 
Step 4. Log in to your server SSH console with the appropriate username and password.
 

Congratulations, you have accessed your Linux Server from your Windows PC using the PuTTY application.
